

Jane Riber Peters, 85, wife of Dr. Arthur Carl Peters, and mother of Arthur Calvert “Chip” Peters, and Margaret “Meg” Peters Whan, passed peacefully in the presence of family on March 6, 2015 in Orlando FL.
Born April 5, 1929 in Washington Court House, OH, she was the middle child of Arch O. Riber and Mary Ethel Calvert Riber.
Jane was a graduate of Washington Court House High School where she was a member of the marching band and homecoming queen. She then attended Monticello Jr. College and The Ohio State University, where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority and majored in merchandising. In 1952, she married Arthur and after several years as an Air Force wife, they moved to Columbus and have resided in Upper Arlington, OH for more than 50 years.
She was a lifelong Methodist, first belonging to Grace UMC in Washington Court House, OH, and then Trinity UMC in Marble Cliff, OH. Jane was an active alumnus in Delta Gamma volunteering in the vision screening program, and she was an active volunteer in the Upper Arlington School System.
She was preceded in death by her parents and older brother, Donald, and is survived by sister, Marie Riber Dillon, her husband, Art, and her children, Art and Meg; grandchildren, Jane Peters, and Austin, Wesley, and Connor Whan.
A celebration of life is planned for this summer in Columbus, OH.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the American Cancer Society or the Trinity UMC Foundation, Marble Cliff, OH.
