I first met Janet when she walked into the Gov Winslow school. Janet arived with a big smile and a twinkle in her eye. I was very fortunate to join Janet as her classroom aide for several years. Little did I know what I was getting myself into!!!!!!! We began planning our days and weeks for the school year which included going to the POOL and I can tell you those trips were something else. We cooked many Thanksgiving lunchs (the turkey was cooked at my house) everything else was done in the classroom. From Pilgrim hats and Indian feathers, placemats for our guests, students cooking veggies, dessets, and setting the table. Janet had this idea that we should take the kids camping as she knew none of them had ever had a pj party at a friends house or camped out. Our first camping trip Janet was able to get us tents that we put up as soon as we arrived at the campsiite in Plymouth, the kids had no idea what to do but they sure learned fast. We invited the school nurse and secretaries to join us for dinner that night and they brouth the desset. They were so surprised as they arrived to see everything all done and everyone had smiles! What a wonderful time we all had. Janet and I also attened many wonderful Special Olympic events with the class. Everyone came home with a ribbon! I could go on forever but I will close for now. Janet maybe physically gone but the memories will never be erased.

I am so saddened by the loss of Janet. Janet and I were friendly during high school and ended up at Governor Winslow School in Marshfield, MA, both of us teaching special needs children for some years. At one point, our classrooms were connected and we were able to pop in to share with each other.  She always impressed me with her teaching skills and can-do attitude: planning a classroom Thanksgiving meal (roasted turkey included!) for staff and children, taking her class on a camping trip, and doing all the day-to-day academics. I am a better teacher because of working with Janet. She had such a wonderful way of making me laugh til I cried and keeping me focused on the truly important things in life. Our daily commutes together and attempts at organized exercise classes back in the 80's were quite comical. She was such a great story teller. Her accounts of bats in the cellar in Pembroke had us rolling on the floor trying to catch our collective breaths. I have so many fond memories of Janet. God bless the Lynch family. God bless the Alexanders. My prayers are with you all. Be comforted to know that she lived her life with joy and faith and gave those gifts to others. Erin and I spent many cold and happy mornings at the Panera on Mill Street drinking hot chocolate and eating bagels as Janet, Katherine, she, and I solved the problems of the world.  Janet always made me feel better when I ran into her, because no matter how hectic life had gotten, she could still find a silver lining in its stresses.  She was truly the kind of person one is blessed to know.  She made me a better person because of the friendship we shared, and our daughters were blessed by watching the life she lived.  To Rob, what a wonderful partner you chose.  She made you smile with her gorgeous smile, and she always was thinking of family and YOU first.  Katherine and Mary, you have the memories of a loving, caring, nuturing mother to carry forward.  Please "Pay her lessons of life and goodness Forward"!!!  If I U is no longer in your game plan, Katherine, just remember that it will still be out there waiting for you if that is where God wants you to be.  Give it time--you all need to heal, embrace life and its goodness, and carry on in the way Janet would have wanted.  I can only image the magnitude of your loss, but I know Janet laid groundwork for each of you to live life to its fullest, dream the biggest and go for it, and love unconditionally. I am a former colleague of Janet's from the Pilgrim Area Collaborative and had the pleasure of working in her class for a couple years before she left for Ohio.  I also got a chance to bump into her a few years back at the Christmas Tree shop on a visit here.  She was a great teacher and I learned lots from working in her class even for that short time.  I was saddened to hear of her passing.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.

We were truly blessed to connect with such a kind and beautiful Janet. Always a smile and a warm hello as we gathered at the high school for our the girls Katherine & Dana. We will never forget the time Janet made a special gesture to Dana. She pulled her aside and recognized Jeff (Dana's stepdad) for coming to all of her events. This meant so much to all of us. Janet never hesitated to connect, she always shared from the heart. We'll miss her. Our most heartfelt sympathies to Bob, Katherine & Mary.

my beautiful, beautiful barbara, biff, kathy and megan.  my heart is broken for you all, your wonderful Janet is with her father and loved ones in heaven.  My favorite family, i always told my precious barbara.  how thankful i was to have barbara work with me and Janet take my traci in the summers to St. Coletta's to work with those beautiful special kids.  traci loved it so and i was so indebted to barbara and janet for watching over traci those critical years in high school.  but that  is just how barbara and bill were, embracing everyone and taking their families in.  how i love your family.  .  my heartful love and Gods love be with you always.  marlene hoey

I am so saddened.  I knew Janet from Lifetime Fitness.  She would always be the one in the back row (usually with me) doing a step class, basic training, or all of the other classes they offered.  We chatted a lot and became friends. I can't count how many times we just talked and talked before and after class.   
 When a friend of mine was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, Janet always asked me how she was feeling.  Her concern for my friend was genuine.  
 Over the years at Lifetime Fitness, I had lost a lot of weight.  She would always compliment me and tell me how wonderful I looked. Her words made me feel so good! Janet was selfless, thinking of others.  What a wonderful woman.  I am truly going to miss her.  My condolences to her family.

I was deeply saddened to read in the Cape Cod newspaper of Janets passing.  Janet and I were colleagues at the Pilgrim Area Collaborative many years ago.  She was an exceptional special education teacher and was greatly respected by her colleagues and parents and was loved by her students.   After she moved to Ohio a couple of our staff kept in touch and maintained their friendships with her.  We heard of her ongoing struggle with cancer and of how strong and courageous she was through it all.  She had a positive impact on the lives of so many children and families and will be remembered fondly by the Collaborative community.  Our deepest sympathies go out to her family. Although we didn't know Janet for a long period of time, we quickly knew what a wonderful, caring, and generous woman she was.  She was genuine and truly a fighter.  What an example and inspiration to her whole family and to all that were lucky enough to have known her,  She will be truly missed and our thoughts and prayers go out to her entire family.
