Janice Eileen Jarvis, age 92 of Columbus, died Thursday, January 17, 2019 at her home. Janice was born in Columbus, OH on September 17, 1926 the daughter of John and Ruth Edna (Hoon) Walters. After graduating from East High School, Janice became a secretary for the Department of Defense at Curtiss Wright, then worked for Battelle Institute retiring after 30 years of service. Along with her parents, Janice is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Perry Jarvis Jr., and son Perry Jarvis III. She is survived by her son Daniel A. Jarvis of Columbus and daughter Patricia Schratz of Chicago, IL; grandchildren Paul, John and Nick Schratz and Christina Howell; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 22nd at 11:30am at SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN Chapel, 229 E. State St., Columbus, OH where the family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. The Rev. Dr. Ervin Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.
