

Jay Douglas Harrison, Sr. age 58, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 14, 2017 at St. Ann’s Hospital. He was born August 30, 1958 in Columbus, Ohio to Cecil Douglas and Charlene (Levering) Harrison. Jay was a graduate of Northland High School and worked for over 30 years with Liebert Industries (formerly Emerson Industries). He was an avid Buckeye, Blue Jackets and Viking fan. Jay was a talented painter who enjoyed watching and painting Bob Ross landscapes. Jay also earned many trophies throughout the years throwing darts. He was always fun to be around and everyone knew his name at Renie’s Lounge. Along with his father, Jay is preceded in death by his “Granny Grump”, brother-in-law, Roger Downey; father-in-law, Larry Ables and “Uncle” John Gilkes. Surviving are devoted sons, Jay D. Harrison, Jr. and T.J. Harrison; mother, Charlene Harrison; sisters, Jackie Downey, Velva Ables, Lynette (Gene) Yancey and Nanci (Chuck Adams) Ables; nieces and nephews, Addison Downey, Char (Nic) Smith, Kylie Able, Chris (Audrey) Kincer, Devon Kincer, Jessica (Joel) Hutchinson, Aryn Dalton and Devon Dalton; many great nieces and nephews; former wife, Rhonda Harrison; mother-in-law, Ruth (Ray Swick) Appleman; special friend, Dave Powers; along with numerous friends and extended family. A celebration of life will be held in his honor at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road.
