Jean Klaubert Friend

Jean was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey and grew up in Montclair. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Friend and son-in-law, Lanny Emery.

Jean graduated from Colby Jr. College, with an associate’s degree in Liberal Arts. Jean worked as an administrative assistant at Marion Steele High School in Amherst, Ohio where she and Paul raised their daughters. Upon her husband’s retirement, she and her husband Paul settled in Pinehurst, North Carolina. There she was an active member of the Community Presbyterian Church. Jean was an avid golfer and Big Ten sports fan. Most of all, Jean enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

She will be greatly missed by her brother Jack (Judy) Klaubert: daughters, Leslie Emery, Judy (Paul) Loper, and Karen (Mark) Roberts; grandchildren, Megan Treleaven, Michael (Victoria) Treleaven, Paul Loper Jr., Stephen (Jessie) Roberts, Daniel Loper, Jeffrey Roberts, Kelly Roberts, Christopher Roberts, and Ted Loper; great grandson Lucas Treleaven; and many other extended family members and dear friends.

A family service will be held at a later date in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Memorial contributions may be made to the Habitat for Humanity of the NC Sandhills, 2268 NC Highway 5, Aberdeen, NC. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST , 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna.
