

Jean Maxwell, age 74 of Gahanna, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014. Jean was born and raised in Sunbury, Ohio, daughter of the late Donald and Lillian Bryant. Jean graduated from Big Walnut High School, Class of 1958 and was a member of the National Honors Society. She worked throughout her career as a legal secretary. Jean was an extremely active, intelligent woman who valued friendships and didn’t hesitate to offer her advice. She was an animal lover who enjoyed playing softball, any card game imaginable, golfing, bowling, and traveling to warmer spots. In addition, Jean was also a very talented artist. She was a published poet who enjoyed writing and painting. She will be greatly missed by her loving daughter, Kari (Dwayne) Hawk; granddaughters, Kelsey Lillian (Brandon) Burger and Mackenzie Rose Hawk; 4 brothers; best friend, Phyllis Mendoza; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Memorial service will be held at 5:30 P.M. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., where family will receive friends from 4 P.M. until time of service Saturday. Talon Hobbs is a 4 year old family friend who has been diagnosed with stage 3 cancer.
