

Jean Carter Davis Smith has completed her journey and reached her destination to be with her heavenly Father, Tuesday, December 8, 2009. Jean was a fabulous mother. She worked at DCSC during the 2nd World War. Served as a ward clerk at St. Anthony Hospital. She was devoted dorm mother at St. Francis School of Nursing. She also worked as a retail clerk for F & R Lazarus. Jean was affiliated with Jack and Jill Clubs of America and Parminue of Columbus. Jean confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and Savor of her life. Baptized February 18, 1990, she was a member of World Harvest Church, Pastor Rod Parsley. Jean was preceded in death by her loving father, James Chilton Davis, mother, Mae Carter Johnson, step-father, Harold Clyde Johnson, husband, Paul Mackie Smith, entrepreneur of E & S Furniture and Appliance and Sonny’s Carry Out of Columbus, Ohio. She is survived by her devoted children, Sandra Jeanne Hull of Las Vegas, Nevada, Paula Diane Elder of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Paul Harold Smith II of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Lori Jean (Morrie L.) Dym, Rick Hull, Gina Maerie (Paul) Stewart, Randy (Susan) Hull all of California, and Gary (Misty) Elder and Kevin (Nicki) Elder all of Columbus, Ohio; 12 great grandchildren; 7 ¾ great great grandchildren; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Memorial service will be held at 12 P.M. Saturday, January 16, 2010 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until time of service.
