Jennifer Evans

Jennifer “Jennie” (Myers) Evans, age 80, of Gahanna, passed away peacefully at home on February 21, 2022. She was born on March 23, 1941 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Clarence Donald Myers and Eileen Myers. She was the second oldest of 4 children. Jennie was a 1959 graduate of Linden McKinley and retired from Abbott-Ross formerly Ross labs) in December of 1996.

In addition to her parents, Jennie is preceded in death by her sister, Patricia A Myers and her brother, Thomas A. Myers Sr., her son, Terry A. Evans, and nephew, Thomas A. Myers Jr.

She was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in various positions at church including her love for family history and genealogy. She helped with teaching others with looking up their own family history. She also helped establish several Family History Centers throughout the area.

When she wasn’t doing genealogy work, she enjoyed volunteering at the Ohio Village. She loved to sew and design her various costumes that she would wear at the Village. Some other interests were gardening, the outdoors, art work, classical music, and all sorts of needlework, whether that be embroidery, crocheting, knitting, etc.

She had a great love for cooking and baking. She also had a deep love for animals. Most of all, her greatest joy and love was her family.

She leaves behind her daughters Michele (Robert) Sattler of Youngstown, and Kathlene “Kathy” Gregory of Sunbury; her sister Rosalie (Eugene) Ledford of Clearwater, FL and sister-in-law Dorothy Myers of Columbus. She also leaves behind her five grandchildren, Abigail Sattler, Benjamin Sattler, Michael Sattler, Devin Gregory, and Dustin Gregory, along with several nieces and nephews.

Jennie's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Mt. Carmel Hospice, particularly Cheryl and Judith, for their care and support.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 28, 2022 from 6-8pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST FUNERAL HOME, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 1st, 2022 at 11am at Mifflin Township Cemetery, Gahanna.
