Jennifer S. Kollmer

Always a writer, Jen was the author of her own adventure on and off the page. After earning an engineering degree from Case Western Reserve University, she moved west and embraced the big landscapes and bold artistic culture she found there. Her love of words and story lead her to an MFA in playwriting and the production of award-winning stage plays, screenplays, and dramatic podcasts.

From family conundrums to DIY science experiments, Jen was always a woman with a plan. She could turn every outlandish adventure into a serious, and seriously fun, pursuit. Whether it was a staged reading that needed to happen in a week, a road trip on half an hour’s notice, an emergency scones lesson from the Great British Baking Show, or dying matchbox cars with Rit Dye because the internet says you can — it was all quickly in hand. Her “YES” was as joyful as it was capable.

She was a most beloved person of so many, and the rock of her family, supportive at all times of her husband’s genius and ambition, her children’s curiosity and accomplishments, her extended family’s joys and sorrows, and her friends' ups and downs.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, Curtis Yarvin; daughter, Sibyl; son, Henry; mother, Johnna; brother, Tom; sister, Joy; sister-from-another-mister, Alisha; nieces, nephews, countless friends and family. Jen was preceded in death by her father who passed from the same hereditary heart disease at the age of 31.

Private Memorial Service will be held for her family, where a webcast will be available at www.schoedinger.com. Public Visitation will be held 4-6 PM on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221. Guests are respectfully asked to wear masks and attendance will be monitored to ensure safety for everyone attending. The immediate family is providing KN95 masks for all guests as we’d prefer to not make this a “covid party.”
