Jerry Wayne Porter, age 60, died Friday, December 18, 2009 in Brunswick, GA. Jerry was born in Ashland, KYon December 8, 1949 the son of Marie (Blevins) and Leslie E. Porter. Jerry served his country in the US Army. He retired as the Bowling Alley Manager at the Athletic Club of Columbus. Jerry is preceded in death by his daughter Melody Porter; his parents; and his best friend Michael Aleshire. He is survived by his daughters Jennifer Porter of Ft. Wayne, IN and Donna M. (Adrian) Porter of Columbus; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; sisters Sandy Isbell and Judy (J.D.) Young; and brother Kenneth Elwood (Janet) Holbrook. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 4501 Hoover Rd., Grove City, OH with Pastor Peter Ray officiating. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm at Washington Cemetery in Washington Court House, OH. The family will receive friends 4-7 pm Tuesday at the Schoedinger State Street Chapel, 229 E. State St and 1 hour prior to the service at church. The family suggests that contributions be made to the American Lung Assn.
