

Jerry passed away peacefully March 8, 2021, at his residence at Carriage Court, Grove City, Ohio. He was born February 23, 1934 in Amanda, Ohio to the late Earl and Ruby (Johnson) Rawlins. The Rawlins family later moved to Grove City, Ohio where he resided and graduated from Grove City High School in 1952. Jerry was a veteran of the US Army. He served state side during the time of the Korean Conflict. Following his Army stint, he worked and retired after (40) years from the CSX Railroad. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Jerry coached baseball for many years in Grove City and enjoyed watching kids compete and improve. Jerry was a passionate lover of the horses and Beulah Park, where he trained numerous horses spanning four decades. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his beloved wife of (65) years, Shirley (Ray) Rawlins; Uncle, Don Rawlins; Brother, Jim Rawlins; Sisters, Jenelle McGinnis, Judy Burt and Grandson, Christopher Rawlins. He is survived by his Daughter, Peggy Barker, Sons, Kevin (Cindy) and Randy Rawlins; Grandchildren - Amy Barker, Stacey (Cory) Brown, Jordan (Melanie) Rawlins and Kiley (Wess) Luckett. Great grandchildren - Titan, Memphis and Hayes Rawlins, Faith and Wesley Luckett, Sisters, Diane (Charlie) Boren and Carole (Gary) Moore, Sister-in-law, Nancy Rawlins, many nieces and nephews, and dear family friend, Gregg Nibert. Jerry was an avid lover of all things sports related. He enjoyed rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Bengals and anything golf related. His loving family will dearly miss him. A special thank you to the loving hands of Capital City Hospice. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 2-5 at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY. A private service will be held for Jerry with Pastor Anita Richter officiating. Interment will be at Grove City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to:
