Jewel Conner Newman

Jewel Ellavene Conner Newman, 92, of Pataskala, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2024. She was born in McComas, West Virginia on May 6, 1932 to the late William L. Conner and Ima Isaacs Conner. Jewel graduated from McComas High School in 1950 and earned an associate degree from West Virginia Business College in Bluefield, West Virginia. Jewel retired from Western Electric after 25 years of service. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafting, baking cakes, and making dolls. In addition to her parents, Jewel was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, John R. Newman; son, Gary D. Scott; daughter-in-law, Adina Scott; sister, Natalie Workman and former husband, William Howard Scott. She is survived by her son, William Eddie Scott; grandchildren, Michael B. (Megan R.) Scott; Carrie D. Lassahn, and Jennifer L. Scott; great-grandchildren, Kaylee K. Lassahn, Caden M. Scott, and Aria R. Scott. Jewel considered her late husband, John’s grown children, Bart A. Newman and Bret A. Newman, their grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as her own. She is also survived by her brother, Doug Conner; brother-in-law, Fred Workman and nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 11:00 am -1:00 pm Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Private entombment will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
