Joann M. Peters, (“Jodee” as she was affectionately nicknamed by her husband Joe), passed away peacefully at home at age 93 on August 10, 2022, following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease in her later years. Joann was predeceased by her husband, Harold J. (“Joe”) Peters, and two sons, Joseph, and Gary Peters. She is survived by sons Jeffrey and Gregory; daughters-in-law Charlene and Oksana; grandchildren Jacqueline, Megan, Alexandra, and Jolene; and great-grandson Theodore. She is also survived by a large extended family of nieces, especially Terry, nephews, especially Doug, and many cousins.
Joann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, and friend. She was also an avid duplicate bridge competitor, having achieved Life Master status, and was a member of The Franklin Bridge Club. To share her math talents and skills, Joann took classes in tax preparation and accounting, which then prepared her to use her skills to assist older persons in personal financial needs as a volunteer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, at St Andrews Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Rd. where family will receive friends at a visitation in the back of the church beginning at 10:00 a.m.
