Joanne E. Jones

Joanne (Jo) Jones was born April 16, 1935, in Chicago, IL. When she was six weeks old, her parents moved to Mansfield, Ohio, where she lived with them until her graduation from college in 1957 at which time she moved to Columbus. She had a son and a daughter during her marriage to Stan Jones from Grandview.

Joanne was confirmed in and became a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Mansfield in 1949 and continued attending that church during her years in Mansfield. She was a member of the Mansfield Senior High School Class of 1953. She entered Ohio University in the fall of 1953, was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority and graduated in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secretarial Studies and an AB Degree in Secondary Education.

She was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Gladys Nichols. She is survived by son Stan, Jr. (Laura Blake Jones) of Ann Arbor, MI; daughter Sue Ellyn Jones (Mark Gall) of Columbus; grandsons Jordan, Ryan and Kyler Blake-Jones; cousins in Chicago, IL, North Carolina and Florida; long-time Mansfield friends and many good friends she made during her life in Columbus.

Jo volunteered in the Upper Arlington schools in many different ways during the years Stan, Jr. and Sue were in school. She worked with many other parents promoting ice hockey in Columbus and Upper Arlington High School. She also got involved with 4-H horse projects learning along the way while Sue was competing in shows. Also, Jo was a long-time member of Twig #102 of Children's Hospital. After Stan, Jr. and Sue were out on their own, Jo ventured back into the business world and was a secretary/receptionist for a real estate company for about 15 years.

Family will receive friends from 4-7pm on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221.
