

Joanne Thorley Mead, formerly of Columbus, Ohio passed away on December 24, 2017 with family by her side in Chanhassen, Minnesota. She was the beloved wife of William H. Mead V. Born in New Pittsburg, Ohio, October 24, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Omar Thorley and Ruth (Weaver) Thorley. Joanne was a member of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Victoria, Minnesota and a former member of Upper Arlington Lutheran Church of Upper Arlington, Ohio and Messiah Lutheran Church of Reynoldsburg, Ohio. She owned and operated Phantom Productions and was a longtime volunteer for Lutheran Social Services Food Bank and CAPA Colleagues, both of Columbus, Ohio and Bountiful Baskets in Chaska, Minnesota. Joanne is survived by her children, Sharon R. Steele (Gregg) of Canal Winchester, Ohio; William H. Mead VI (Nancy) of Quincy, Illinois; Lisa L. Mead (Christine Doherty) of Newburyport, Massachusetts; Chad A. Mead (Robin) of Chanhassen, Minnesota, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Joanne is also survived by her sisters, Eloise Snoddy of New Pittsburg, Ohio, and Mary Sue Besancon, of Apple Creek, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Omar Thorley, Jr., David Thorley and Wanda McKinstry. A memorial service will be held at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church at a later date.
