Joanne Thomas

Joanne Thomas, 72, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, died peacefully Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Mount Carmel West surrounded by family and love. Joanne was born September 16, 1943 in Martins Ferry, Ohio to Robert and Dorothy (Moore) Burns.

She lived in California and Gahanna and retired after a long career in corporate retail. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Bonnie Sue. Joanne is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, James “Butch” Thomas; daughter and best friend Allison Thomas; brothers Bobby Burns and Rick Burns; her dear childhood friend Joyce Markovich; many nieces, nephews and friends and her beloved cat, Alexander.

Joanne was a devoted mother and wife. She loved life and cared deeply for others (especially cats). A member of Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, Joanne enjoyed numerous hobbies and interests including nature, entertaining and retail therapy. Above all she cared and advocated deeply for people and their happiness, including strangers. Joanne’s love, care, kindness, sense of humor and passion will be deeply missed by everyone that she has encountered, especially her family and friends.
