

He graduated from Oliver High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as well as Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio. While attending Muskingum, he met his wife Barbara.
Dick served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was stationed at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He served as a specialist, coordinating and performing entertainment for the troops on the base as well as in bivouac.
He worked in advertising in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and in later years as a technical writer for United States Steel.
His great avocation was the theater and film. He started out as an usher at Heinz Hall in Pittsburg. Later he acted in and directed the Penn Hills Players, a community theater group in the Pittsburgh area. Through Army connections he told great stories of meeting famous actors and actresses backstage in New York theaters. His participation in local theater continued when he and Barbara moved to the Columbus, Ohio area.
Dick was active at Trinity United Methodist Church of Grove City, Ohio, where he was a member of the church choir and faithfully attended the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.
He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Bolton and his sister Marilyn Bolton Murphey
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, Grove City, Ohio on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 10:00am. Friends and family are welcome to attend visitation from 9 to 10am. After the funeral service there will be a graveside service at Kingwood Memorial Park, Lewis Center, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity United Methodist Church.
