John David Coffey

John David Coffey, Sr., 85, of Columbus, OH died on December 8, 2010. Born May 13, 1925 in Catlettsburg, KY the son of the late Martha and Cecil Coffey. John, a U.S. Navy World War II veteran was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and a good friend to many. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine R. Coffey (Gire); sisters, Mae Roosa, Ouida Madigan, Jo Robinson, Wanda Hopkins, Wilma Robinson and brother, Jack. Survived by sons, John Jr. (Esta) and Woody (Pam) Coffey; grandchildren, John III (Maureen), Tim (Gayla), Jenny and Joe; great grandchildren, Emily, John IV, Erin, Katie, Jake and Kaileah. After retiring from White Westinghouse he enjoyed hobbies including fishing, camping and refinishing antiques. John will be missed by his family and numerous friends. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad where funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 11, 2010 with Pastor Matthew Cox officiating.
