

John Martin Hamblin, 81, of Columbus, went to be with the Lord, Monday, May 28, 2012. He was born July 26, 1930 in Carmi, IL to the late Martin and Florence (Wooten) Hamblin. He graduated from Lane Tech High School, Chicago, IL and attended Olivet Nazarene College where he met his wife of 55 yrs, Lora (Tippy) Hamblin. He served with the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict and was employed by 3C Lumber Sales. He was an Adult Bible School Teacher at East Linden United Methodist Church. John loved his grandchildren, reading the Bible and talking. He was very caring and loved people. He had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and he was dearly loved by his daughters. Preceded in death by daughter Wanda Rodono and brother-in-law Bob Garland, survived by his loving wife Lora, daughters Celeste (Mike) Grotsky, Cheryl Hamblin and Christine Hamblin, son-in-law Joe Rodono, sisters Anna Hamblin, Mildred (Clem) Evans and Mary Garland, grandchildren Stephanie and Stephen Rodono, many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. and Friday from 12:30 until time of service at 1PM at Grace Brethren Church, 8225 Worthington Galena Rd., Westerville, OH 43081.
