John Hewitt

John H. Hewitt, age 81, passed away on April 11, 2021. He was born on November 17, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Henry” and Edna Hewitt; brother, William Hewitt; two half-brothers, Charles and Bart Johnston and two half-sisters, Trudy Arledge and Elise Ross. He leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Carol Hewitt; children, Johnny (Tammy Brown) Hewitt and Jennifer (Michael) Weidlich; grandsons, Trevor and Braeden; his two sisters, Barbara Becker and Mary Beardsley; Carol’s loving siblings; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. John graduated from Central High School in 1957. He proudly worked for Lennox Industries for 30+ years. John had a passion for wood working and enjoyed playing softball. He was honored to coach little league football as well as high school and college girls softball. He talked to absolutely everyone and enjoyed being around people. He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him. Family will receive friends on Thursday April 15, 2021 from 11am-1pm at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N. High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43085, where a funeral service will begin promptly at 1pm. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. Guests attending services are respectfully asked to wear a mask and attendance will be monitored. There will be a livestream of the service on this page.
