John Charles Mitchell

John "Jack" Mitchell, age 64 of Grove City, passed away Friday, December 11th, 2020. Jack, son of the late Paul and Marilyn Mitchell, was born in Youngstown, Ohio and grew up in Girard, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Mitchell, and his beloved fur companions, Bandit and Tenny. Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for four years. Upon his return home, Jack worked briefly as a police officer before entering the automotive industry. He had currently been working for over 28 years with AY Manufacturing as the Senior Material Planner. Jack was a warm, patient, and friendly man who was kind to everyone. He was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to music, especially classic rock, adored trips to Amish Country, and spending time with friends at the range. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 40 years, Karen Mitchell; sisters, Diane Schenker and Karen Capaldi; nephews, Christopher Schenker, James Alan Mitchell Jr., and Josh Mitchell; nieces, Sarah Capaldi and Dawn Sechler; great niece, Brynn; great nephew, Ezekiel; and many other extended family members and dear friends. A memorial service will be held at a future date. In loving memory of Jack, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.
