
John Haskell Muncy, age 93 passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday March 24th, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents John Sheridan Muncy, Bertha Marie Maynard-Muncy, Brother Bobby Lee Muncy, Daughter Betty Ann Muncy-Ely. John is survived by his sisters Dean (Virgil) Skidmore, Emma (Arnold) Murphy, life partner Lois Travis, son David M. (Nellie) Muncy, Daughter Brenda K. (Cory) Forler, Grandchildren Tabitha, Yvonne, Matthew, Debbie, Jesse, Joshua, Rebecca, along with numerous great grandchildren, great-great granchildren, nieces, nephews and very dear friends. John retired from Parker-Hannifin Hydraulic Pump (formerly Hagglunds Denison during his tenure) in Marysville Ohio. John was honorably discharged from the U.S. Naval Reserve as an S2 ranking aircraft mechanic in August 1946. Originally from Martin County Kentucky, John worked as a coal miner until a job-site collapse prompted him to relocate to Ohio and eventually take up a postion as a manufacturing plant foreman. In his spare time John enjoyed gardening, golf, bowling and visiting with family and childrens birthday parties. A huge Ohio State University football and basketball fan, John would also root for the Kentucky Wildcats to keep in line with his southern family (As long as they were not playing OSU). John never met a stranger and had a big heart. Everyone that met him loved him. A private cremation service will be held April 1st with a memorial gathering to be planned for late-spring for all that want to attend (date to be determined).
