

John B. Payne, 82 of Columbus, was called home to his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, May 18, 2010 after a lengthy illness. He was born May 15, 1928 in Duncan Falls, OH, where he was raised and educated. John proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a major in accounting. John gained employment with KPMG and retired as a partner in the firm. He worked in the Columbus, Pittsburgh, Hartford, CT, Anchorage, AK, and New York, NY offices. John was on the Board of Highlights for Children, and a member of Worthington Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed playing golf and time spent with family and friends. Preceded in death his parents, Pearl and Laura Payne; wife, Donaldeen, in 2006; sister, Maxine Clark and brothers, Dan and Dave Payne. John will be missed by his daughter, Dr. Cressa Kay (John) Perish of Frankfort, Ill; son, Bradford W. (Kim) Payne of Columbus; grandchildren, Emily and Michael Perish and Megan, Curtis, Maggie and Macy Payne; brothers, Bill (Nell) Payne of Newark and Bob (Pat) Payne of Zanesville; brother-in-law, Bernard Clark; sisters-in-law, Judy and Dee Payne; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Richard (Marilyn) and James (Marlene) Clark. John’s family would like to express appreciation for the care dad received during his stay at the Laurels of Norworth. Family will receive friends Friday, May 21, 2010 from 5-7:30pm with a prayer service at 7pm at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St. (Just South of I-270), Columbus. Funeral services 1pm Saturday with visiting 1 hour prior at Beverly Presbyterian Church, 4th St., Beverly. Interment in Beverly Cemetery.
