

John Garner Ritchey "Jack", 75 of Columbus, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 22nd, after sustaining injuries due to a tragic fire at their family home of 40 years in Clintonville. Jack was born to the late Leonard E. and Emma Ritchey, May 30, 1942, in Zanesville, Ohio. He graduated from Bishop Rosecrans H.S. and received a B.S. in Accounting from The Ohio State University in August 1968. For over 40 years he served as an accountant putting himself though OSU while working for Vorys Brothers, and upon graduation worked with Deloitte and Touche as a CPA, and later with Mid-America Federal Savings and Loan, and finally as a consultant with the Value Recovery Group. He retired in January 2010. He is survived by his loving wife Emelie Joan (McKeown) of 55 happy years and six children, Lisa (Tom) Snide of Dublin, OH, Timothy of Columbus, OH, Robert (Lynn) of Dardenne Prairie, MO, Jennifer Taylor of Lewis Center, OH, Matthew (Lorena) of Dublin, OH, and Carolyn (Bob) Hayzlett of Worthington, OH, and 11 grandchildren Megan, Nick, Bryan, Elena, Nathan, Logan, Noah, Max, Pia, Caleb and Lucas.
Known as "Gentleman Jack" to his family and close friends, he is also survived by eight living siblings, including brothers Joe Sr. (Barb), Paul (Molly), Pat all of Zanesville, OH, and Frank (Karen) of Columbus, OH. Sisters, Rose of Zanesville, OH and Libby Rahn, Emma (Phil) Kline, Marilyn Allread all of Columbus, OH. Preceded in death by both parents, and brothers, Leonard, Donald, Tom and sister, Mary Broeckel.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, January 5th from 5-8pm at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel with a prayer service at 7:30pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, January 6th at 10:00am at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 1582 Ferris Road, Columbus, OH 43224.
