John R. Temple of Gahanna, age 79, passed away peacefully on March 30th, 2026. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, on March 23, 1947, to the late Charles and Ruth (Grubb) Temple. He proudly served as a Columbus Firefighter/Paramedic and owned his own carpet installation company. After retiring, he worked as a school bus driver for Worthington City Schools.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Temple. Johnny is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lana (Land) Temple, and children Tonya O’Brien (Jim), Johnny Temple, Tasha Briggs (Brady); grandchildren Jayme O’Brien, Jakob O’Brien (Alex), Sydney Walker (Brandon), Nickolas O’Brien, Ashli Temple (Marshall), Asia Temple (Cole), Jesse Temple (Meghan), Colen Briggs (Victoria), Tommy Briggs (Maeisha), Carson Briggs (Sydney), and Anthony Briggs; and 9 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 8th, 2026, from 2–4 PM, followed by a memorial service from 4–5 PM at Advantage by Schoedinger North, located at 5554 Karl Rd, Columbus, OH 43229.
