To my Family of Uncle John,
 Uncle John was an important part of my life.  He was the most forgiving and compassionate man I knew.  Uncle John would always remind me, that he loved me, and being the son of his twin brother (Jimmy my dad).  When my dad died, Uncle John stepped up to the plate as my second dad.  This is a big reason I'm having such a difficult time excepting his passing. Despite my illness Uncle John always made me feel special.  In that things will look brighter for me in the future.  I'll cherish the phone conversations Uncle John and I had joking around.  He always had a way of putting a smile on my face.  Every time I was in the ER or Hospital, Uncle John would be there comforting me and questioning the doctors about my visit.  After Dad died Uncle John went the extra mile to make my daughter Grace feel loved as a granddaughter.  I'll never forget my Uncle John as he was a very special man.  As the identical twin brother of my dad, I'll always have special and precious memories of my Uncle John.  He was a one of a kind and I'll cherish Uncle John’s legacy in my heart forever.

Yep, it's (bottom row) Lisa, Robin, Rob (top row) Pam, Cindi, Angel, Margaret.  I will try again to find that sibling photo from this reunion.  I'm sorry I was unable to make the viewing/funeral, but my thoughts, love, and prayers are with you all (today and always).

     I remember Uncle John & JIm coming to our house (Paul & Nellie Dillon's) one winter night, the weather was too bad for them to get home, they let me sit with them and watch tv, I was a young 6 or so, they joked and kidded me, they always had something to laugh and be happy for when they were around.  We had several occasions together, I enjoyed and looked forward to every one.  I will miss Uncle John and remember his witt and great big smile.  In Matthew 11:28 Jesus invites:  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  May God Bless and comfort all of you.

Lit a candle in memory of Johnnie Cleon Davis

Is that Margaret?  Kind of looks like her but she looks younger.  I will have to try and dig out some old pictures to share too.  I loved those reunions!  We had so much fun.  I remember sneeking into Uncle George's camper - not sure if we were playing hide and seek or just being silly.  Probably silly.  But boy we had fun.  Love you guys!

It doesn't seem possible that Uncle John has now passed.  Mom (Eloise) always spoke so fondly of him and Uncle Jim.  She always called them her "twins" or "baby brothers".  I remember his voice, asking me how I was, and his genuine interest.  It's been years since we last saw each other, but I have a photo of all us grandkids (sitting on a picnic bench) at one of the family reunions . . . and I have to say, we were quite a cute bunch!  I will look for the picture tomorrow, along with a group picture of the siblings, and try to share it here.   My deepest sympathies to the family, Sharon, Robin, Lisa, and grandbabies. uncle john how I enjoyed talking on the phone talking about nascar and ohio state and joking about who was the better team the browns or the bengals and you even gave me advice on a few occasions every time I was in the hospital you would call every day to check on me theirs a void in my heart now that can never be filled I love you uncle john and hope to see you again someday my heart goes out to Sharon lisa  robin and grandkids Kenny dale

john I am so glad I had you for a brother I remember when we played baseball in the backyard at mom and dads and you were up to bat and I was pitching and I threw a pitch you hit the ball and it hit me in the eye I had that blackeye for two weeks and everybody made fun of me and so did you but I am still very proud that I am your sister and you are my brother and I thank god each day that you made us all laugh john I will miss you very much will see you in heaven one of these days love alma

It is hard to imagine Uncle John being gone. He was always a 'character'.  He was fun to be around and enjoyed himself.  My heart goes out to Robin and Lisa- it has been so long that I have seen you.  I loved coming over to Uncle John and Uncle Jim's when I was a kid....so many years ago.  Life is too short. Uncle John,
I have so many memories of my childhood that you were a part of.  Of coarse, I took every opportunity to come to your and Aunt Wanda's house to have a sleepover with Lisa and Robin.  You made feel like I was your third daughter.
