

Jolene Ann Pennington 65 of Reynoldsburg, died Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at home. She was born September 11, 1944 in Toledo, daughter of William B. and Julia M. (Pitzen) Pennington. She was a graduate of BGSU with a Bachelor of Science. Jolene had two passions in life that she enjoyed to the fullest in her retirement years, sports and politics. She followed both with a unique zeal. The Buckeyes and Browns were her pride and joy and she was a heart and soul Democrat. Jolene was a proud career Federal Employee. She spent most of her career as a member of the SAMMS Directorate at the DLA Systems Automation Center, later known as the DLA Systems Design Center, located at what is now known as the DSCC facility in Whitehall, where she pioneered the development of inter-active on-line transaction processing utilizing individual computer terminals, long before the adoption of the desktop computers used today. She held a supervisory position in that directorate for many years prior to retirement. She is survived by her parents, daughter Susan Jolene Prater (David Huggins), son Adam (Christina) Holman, brother Michael (Dawne) Pennington, sister Judith Ann Dey, granddaughter Amanda Jolene Huggins. Private services will be observed by the family.
