Skip began his life on July 27, 1933 in Lancaster, Ohio and on April 5, 2025, he continued onto his next journey. Skip was preceded in death by his wife Dona, his mother Besse and his father Joseph. He leaves four sisters, Shirley of Loris, S.C., Donna of Albion, MICH., Maggie of Utica, OH., and Ruth of Grove City, OH., along with numerous nieces and nephews. Skip had a full and productive life. He was on the swimming team at West High School and his specialty was high diving. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict, and on his return to the United States, he joined the Kenley Players in Columbus and sang the lead role in numerous Broadway plays at the Ohio Theater. Skip worked at the Columbus Dispatch for over forty years. His passion was fishing in local streams and rivers every chance he got. Skip and Dona also raised and showed registered Doberman Pinchers. Our thanks go out to the staff at Danbury/Parkside Assisted Living Facility, especially Ramona and Kiana, who took care of Skip for several years. Our gratitude cannot be expressed in mere words. Capital City Hospice was instrumental in assisting Skip on his final journey with kindness and dignity.
