Joseph Ciastko

Joseph Ciastko, 86, of Galena, passed away on February 21, 2022. He was born on October 18, 1935, to the late Joseph and Mary Ciastko. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Ciastko; siblings, Lorraine Ciastko, Fred (Dorothy) Ciastko and Helen Ciastko

Long-time parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hicksville, NY. Joseph loved watching sports. He suffered through/enjoyed every losing or winning season of the NY Mets, NY Giants and NY Islanders! He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. Joseph derived the greatest joy from fixing broken toys, helping with school projects, attending school events and games, and giving love and support to his children and grandchildren in every way. Marmie and Pop-Pop were very proud to have traveled across many states to welcome every single one of their 10 grandchildren at each of their births and for every Sacrament.

Joseph will be greatly missed by his children, Allison (Chris) Favo and Christine (Joe) Zaremba; grandchildren, Sarah, Brendan, Patrick, Gabrielle (Bernard) Vilker, Mary, Matthew, Katie, Amelia, MaryGrace and Jamie; great grandchildren to Baby Vilker, due in April; siblings, Rudy (Late Bernadette) Ciastko and Jeanne (Bob) Walsh Beloved Uncle Joe to Susan, and Paula Ciastko, Denise (Dave) Hevrin, Sheri Muscarella, Laura (Mark) Tompkins, Jennifer and Matthew Ciastko, Robert (Amanda) Walsh, Michael (Katie) Walsh, Megan Walsh, MaryBeth (Joe) Stancato, Geraldine Meneses, the Late Ricky Meneses, Debbie (Late Walter) Villaviencio, Celeste Meneses, Walter (Mary) Meneses, Cathy Lewis, Caryn Meneses, David (Pam) Levy, and the Late Elizabeth Levy; best friend, Edward (Brunhilda) Levy; pet, Fenway.

A visitation will be held on Friday February 25, 2022, from 4PM until 6PM at the Schoedinger Worthington funeral home, 6699 North High St., Worthington OH, 43085 and on Saturday, February, 26, from 9AM until 9:45AM. A service will follow at St. Michael Catholic Church, 5750 North High St., Worthington OH, 43085 on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 10AM.
