

Joseph William Dalton, age 82, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2013 in North Carolina, where he had been residing for the past year. He was born June 21, 1930 in Hollywood, CA to the late William and Opal (Dotson) Dalton. Joseph was an Eagle scout. He was a U.S. Army 2nd Lieutenant and a Veteran, having served during the Korean War. He lived much of his life in Charleston, WV before moving to Reynoldsburg, OH. He retired from American Electric Power where he worked as a chemical engineer for 38 years. Joseph is survived by his wife of almost 63__ years, Dolores (Ward) Dalton; children, Shirley Ann (Mark) Lycan, Michael W. (Jenny) Dalton, Mary L. (Jim) Schmidt, Donna J. Mitchell and Patricia J. (Bill) Viers; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Daniel P. Dalton; extended family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Linda Dalton. Family will receive friends 5-8pm (Prayer service at 7:30pm) Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43232. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1051 S. Waggoner Rd., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068; Msgr.
