

Joseph G. Dooley, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 on his 68th Wedding Anniversary. He was born on May 15, 1939 to the late A.G. and Loretta (Quinn) Dooley. Joe attended Aquinas High School and graduated from Central High School.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barb (Popp) of 68 years; children Cindy Boller, Joey C. Dooley, Kenny (Joanie) Dooley and Teri (Dennis) McDonough; grandchildren Andy and Cory Boller (Rachel), Jessica McDonough (Jacob Brummitt) and Chris McDonough; great-grandson Wyatt McDonough; great-granddaughter Adalyn; sister Dottie (Steve) Rice; brother-in-law Dan Matyac; sister-in-law Carol McClure and Debbie Brenner; nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by sister Ruth Ann (Bob) Bennett and brother Creigh Dooley; sister CeCe Matyac; brother-in-laws Jack McClure and Bill Brenner; and son-in-law Bill Boller.
Joe was employed with the John J. Getreu Wholesale Company for 10 years. They were bought out by Peyton’s Inc. of Louisville, Ky. A Division of The Kroger Company, where he remained for 30 years. In 1989 he started his own business, The Toy and Novelty Wholesale L.L.C. and sold the business in 2004 after 15 years and Retired at the age of 65. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corp. Reserve for 6 years and a long time member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.
Family will receive friends from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Road, Columbus, Ohio 43220. A Mass of Christian burial will immediately follow at 1:00pm. The family will have a reception in Parish Hall immediately following the Mass.
