Walter Luft, age 86, of Gahanna passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital. He was born on September 15, 1924 in Columbus to the late Joseph and Marguerite Luft. As a young man he joined the US Army and proudly served his country during WWII in Europe. After his military service, he had a long and successful career as an insurance adjuster. Walter had many interests in life; he was a gun smith as well as an avid gun collector; he loved making jewelry; and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Above all else he was a proud and patriotic man, who loved his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Edna Faye; children, Marjorie (Skip) Swies and Paul J. Luft; grandchildren, Adam (Nikki), Nathan, Lauren, Brian and Todd (Robyn); great grandchildren, Kendall and Karson.
