

Joseph E. “Joe” Mogan age 79 of Circleville, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at his residence. Joe was born June 8, 1933 in Stoutsville, son of the late Wayne G. and Hannah (Hickey) Mogan. Joe was a 1951 graduate of Circleville High School. After graduation, he served in the Army during the Korean War. He was retired from G.M. with 34 ½ years of service. Joe was a lifelong and active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was also a member of AMVETS Post #2256, American Legion Post #134, and the Knights of Columbus. Joe loved golf, crossword puzzles, was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Indians, and loved sitting on his deck visiting with friends, family and neighbors where he was the “Reigning Mayor of Bean Town”. Trips to the beach were always important to Joe and he will always be remembered as a friend to all and a friend of Bill W.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Pat and John Mogan; sisters Sally Thomas and Ida Belle White. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Dee (Martin) Mogan; sons Joe (Teri) Mogan and their children Danielle and Casse; Jerry (Kate) Mogan and their children Jessica and Jared Skinner, Bryn and Clay; Tim (Amber) Mogan and their children Jake, Hannah, Ben and Joe; Tom (Debbie) Mogan and their children Josh, Elizabeth and Abby; great grandchildren Owen and Nora Skinner; brothers Jerry (Ruth) Mogan of Grove City and Tim (Polly) Mogan of Westerville; sisters Helen (Doug) Morrison of Phoenix, AZ and Mary (Bob) Hartley of Palmyra, IN; sisters in law Bonnie Mogan of Columbus, Marty (Dick) Fabian, and Barbara Harber; brothers in law Jay White of Circleville, and John (Carol) Martin; special aunt Jane Barr.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 134 W. Mound St., Circleville, OH with Fr. Ted Machnik celebrant. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Monday at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held at 8:45 p.m.
