Joyce A. Berry,71, of Columbus, OH passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the Mount Carmel Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Joyce was born on November 27, 1938 to the late Ted and Crystal (Fleming) Wells in Columbus, OH. Joyce reared her family on the North Side and resided at the same address for over 37 years. Joyce was a wonderful mother and had a soft spot for all animals. She was a care taker first and never met a stranger. Often she opened up her home to those who were in need. She adored her children and grandchildren, and acquired the name of Grammy to everyone who knew her. An avid football fan and bonifide Buckeye fan, you didn’t dare disturb her during the game.
Joyce’s family will be receiving friends at the Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH on Saturday from 3:30pm to 8:00pm with a Celebration of Remembrance during half time of the OSU Game. Joyce’s family is requesting that appropriate attire for a Memorial tailgate be worn (i.e. Scarlet and Gray).
