Joyce Ann Downing

Joyce Ann Downing, Aged 77, passed away on Thursday, May 8th, 2025 in Pickerington, Ohio. She was born on July 13th, 1947 to Peter and Anna (Marolt) Titko in Hemlock, OH. Joyce was a 1965 graduate of Gahanna High School (top 10 of the Class of 65!) and later attended Ohio State University.

Joyce is survived by her beloved sons, Scott (Krissy) and Marc (Natalie) Downing as well as her “adopted daughter” Terexa (Earich) Dawson; grandchildren, Kyla, Collin, Emma, Abigail, Omeigha, Ryan, Olivia, Caladrin, Sarah and Emily; great-grandchildren, Hazel, Benjamin and Walker. Also survived by her brother, Jerry (Cheryl) Titko; sister-in-law, Arlene Titko and sister, Rebecca DeTemple; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Titko; brother-in-law, Jerry DeTemple and ex-husband and friend, Timothy Downing.

Joyce was a long time secretary at Fifth Avenue Elementary in Columbus and was loved by countless staff and students; retiring in 2013. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family; playing cards, watching movies and going out to eat. She had 3 cats (Dufus, Patch and Mama Blue) that she cherished. Joyce was a great friend to many and would drop everything to be by your side, as long as she was physically able to. She will be very missed.

A visitation for Joyce will be held Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Schoedinger East, 5360 E Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43232, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
