Judith "Judy" Anne Weisenberger, 73, formerly of Grove City and most recently of Blacklick, Ohio, passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, August 15, 2021. Judy was born in Columbus on April 22, 1948, to the late James and Millie Schafhausen. After graduating from high school, she attended the Ohio State School of Cosmetology. She married her loving husband, John "Hop" Weisenberger in November of 1970. Together, they enjoyed over 50 years of blissful marriage.
Judy spent her life being as active as possible. She was involved in many different bowling and softball leagues throughout her life. She also loved to watch sports, particularly tennis, gymnastics, swimming, and diving. She was an avid card player and was a member of various card clubs. She enjoyed playing Euchre and Canasta with her family and friends.
Another one of Judy's passions was making and gifting baby blankets to family and friends. She dedicated countless hours to cross stitching blankets for her loved ones and poured love into each and every unique blanket. Judy was happiest when she was surrounded by friends and family. She regularly spent Sunday evenings sharing dinner with her family, whom she loved to cook and bake for. Her Christmas cookies will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by grandparents, Jacob and Ellen Schafhausen and John and Margaret Kruse; aunts and uncles, Mary Catherine Schafhausen, David Schafhausen, Vernon and Dorothy Kruse, John R. and Helen Kruse, Orin and Irene Gerkin, Eugene Kruse, Anthony and Caroline Panico; and many additional cousins and loved ones.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Hop Weisenberger; son Brian (Bethany) Weisenberger; grandchildren, Brynn, Blake, Bailey, and Beckett Weisenberger; siblings, James (Connie) Schafhausen, John Jack Schafhausen, and Janet (Richard) Miller; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to express thanks to Hospice of Central Ohio and ALS Association - Central and Southern Ohio Chapter for their care and compassion to Judy throughout this difficult journey. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in Judy's name to either organization at www.hospiceofcentralohio.org or http://webcsoh.alsa.org/.
