Judy Freeman-Church was born to the late Deacon Francis and Deaconess Madelee Freeman in Columbus, Ohio. She attended Columbus Public Schools, graduated from East High school in 1971, and studied at the Columbus Technical School where she received training as a medical technician. For over fifteen years, she served in medically related positions at Grant Hospital. Afterwards, she worked in an area of her passion as a pianist, directing choirs and teaching music at Sunshine Christian Academy as well as provided independent piano lessons. She furthered her education by earning her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Organizational Management from Wilberforce University. She later returned to serve in the medical field at Select Specialty and served until her passing. Simultaneously, like her grandmother, Mama Dear, she sold Avon.
Judy deeply loved her family. She demonstrated her care through lovingly raising her daughter, Elizabeth, who was the joy of her life. She loved and honored her late parents and served as their caretaker along with her brothers and sisters. She supported and gave gifts to all of her brothers and sisters. She was known for taking her younger siblings and nephews and nieces on short anticipated "Bye Bye" trips- shopping, amusement parks, picnics, walks, or major social events. God enriched Judy's life on February 14, 2018, when she married the love of her life, Mark Church. As a couple, they devoted themselves to one another and accepted their calls to the ministry.
They both served and enjoyed fellowshipping in the ministry at a variety of churches and senior citizen's communities particularly: Freedom Center Church (under the ministry of Apostle Sampson and Pastor Sampson), Corban Commons, and Summit Trace. She devoted the last years of her life serving as prayer warrior. The genius of her character was that she was always a caring person who loved everyone and gave whatever she had to bring joy to lives of other people.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, the late Deacon Francis and Deaconness Madelee Freeman. Grandmothers, Effie Freeman and Claretta Smith. Uncle, Samuel (Ida) Freeman, Sr.; her brothers Franklin and Steven and sister Linda Dooley; niece and nephew: Seletha and Byron.
