

Julianne Bonges Lewie, 63, of Gahanna, Ohio, passed away at home on Saturday, June 28, 2014. Friends and family may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at Sunset Cemetery, 6959 W. Broad St., Galloway. Julianne was born Sept. 4, 1950, in Streator, Illinois, to Mary Elliott and Henry Bonges Jr. She graduated from Streator Township High School in 1968 and shortly afterward moved to Columbus. She worked for Nationwide Insurance for a number of years and retired in 2009 from McGraw-Hill Publishing after 25 years. In 2001, she fulfilled a lifelong dream when she earned her bachelor's degree from Otterbein College in Westerville. Julie met Dana Lewie on a blind date on Friday, Oct. 13, 1972, and the couple married Sept. 16, 1977. They had one child, Jeana, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In addition to her husband and daughter, Julianne is survived by two brothers, Kevin (Roberta) Bonges of Indiana and Henry (Margaret) Bonges III of Vermont; her stepmother, Eldora Bonges of Indiana; and her sister-in-law, Diana (Darrell) Howell of Grove City; along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father, numerous aunts and uncles, and her in-laws, Wendell and Catherine Lewie.
