Kairo Mensah left this world unexpectedly Sunday, September 26 in Columbus, Ohio. Her 16 months of life brought so much joy, sparkle, and love. Her favorite books were “Wheels on the Bus” and “Barnyard Dance”. Kairo was obsessed with bubbles and loved splashing in water any chance she could. She also never resisted bouncing to a good beat or raising her hand while worship music played. Even though she was a pandemic baby, Kairo loved to wave and say hi to strangers and would continue to say hi until they responded to her. She had such an exuberance for those she loved. Her bright eyes and smile filled us with light.
She leaves behind her father Andrew, mother Amanda, and older sister Shiloh; Grandparents Dr. Dominic and Janice Mensah, David and Janie Sugg; Aunts Diavonthia Mensah and Drs. Vashti (David) Otuya; Uncles Vito (Tasha) Mensah, Daniel Mensah, and Mike (Kelley) Sugg; Cousins Jada Mensah, Jaidyn LaFollette, Naomi Sugg, Avonti, Josiah, and Ezekiel Otuya, and Fhenix Mitchell; and a whole community who loved her. She is preceded in death by her cousin, Junior Mitchell. Kairo transitioned from this world a few hours before her maternal great-grandfather, we take comfort knowing they are in heaven together.
Kokomo, you are so loved and will be forever missed.
