

Born on June 7, 1966, Karen lived a life full of love, compassion, and resilience. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Tatiana Day Smith, and a proud grandmother to Zyla Talley, who brought immense joy to her life. Karen’s kind spirit and unwavering strength touched everyone who had the honor of knowing her.
Karen was preceded in death by her cherished son, Torre Marte Day; grandmothers, Maderia Russell and Mary Jane Patton aunts, Diane Day and Angeles Patton; uncles, Allyn Russell, Lawrence Day, and Clifford Day; and nephew, Leon E. Day III.
She is lovingly remembered and survived by her daughter, Tatiana Day Smith; granddaughter, Zyla Talley; mother, Auderia O. Caldwell; father, Leon E. (Penny) Day, Sr.; and her devoted life partner, Emile Patrick.
Karen’s legacy continues through her siblings: sisters, April Day, Jamiea Day, and Danielle (Cory) Kibby; brothers, Leon E. (Schennay) Day, Jr., Terrone Link, and Jason (Kara) Day. She is also survived by her aunts, Barbara McDearmon, Jeannette (Angela) Patton, Mary Patton, and Peggy Pippins; uncles, Paul Patton and Issac (Sheila) Day.
Karen’s memory will live on in the hearts of a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her deeply.
Her life was a testament to love, family, and strength. She will be forever remembered and forever missed.
Family will receive friends 2-2:30 pm Friday, May 16, 2025 at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where a memorial service will begin at 2:30 pm. No repass to follow.
