Karen P. Richards

Karen P. Richards, age 66, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on November 30, 2011. She was born April 3, 1945 to the late Kenneth and Helen (Washburn) Bessey. A graduate of Parson’s College in Fairfield, Iowa, Karen devoted many years to teaching children in the Columbus, Ohio Public School system. She was well loved by her students for her sense of humor and her true concern for their character development. She was a faithful member of Grace Brethren Church, an avid OSU football fan, and a supportive and loving mom and grandma. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kristin and Dean Pryor, of Hagerstown, MD and her beloved grandchildren, Caleb and Josiah; also survived by her brother, The Honorable John P. Bessey and his wife, Rowene Bessey; sister, Nan Magill and her husband, Dr. Charles Magill; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and good friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3pm Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Grace Polaris, 8225 Worthington-Galena Rd.
