I'm so sorry to hear of Karl's passing. I met Karl at Ohio State when we were both in college. On the other side of Karl's quiet personality there was a side that didn't hold back, and really let you know what he was thinking. Those close to Karl could always count on him having something zany, off the wall, or interesting to say. We were roommates a couple times, and kept in loose touch afterward. We hadn't spoken in a while when I heard that he had passed. Such sad news; my deepest condolences to Mr. And Mrs. Fitting, Lauren, and the rest of his fa family. May he rest in peace.

Lit a candle in memory of Karl Robert Fitting

Karl and I go all the way back to grade school. We were even roommates for almost 6 years. Life took us in separate ways more then once, but he was someone that when life brought you back together it was always seamless. There are so many memories and stories over the 30+ years...from Nintendo to PS4, New Zealand and Australia, our years at OSU, Primus concerts... I even lived with him during the accident that eventually lead to him getting a tattoo of one of his favorite bands, Slayer. I am very happy for the time I was gifted with Karl. I only wish we had 30+ more years. When you’ve known someone for so long they become more family then friend. Those who knew you are better for it and may you live on in their hearts and memories. Really going to miss you K-Fi. Till we meet again brother.

Rest In Peace Karl.  So sorry for the loss.  It has been a long while since we have seen each other but I will never forget Karl’s boundless energy and all the laughter.  Many good times spent with our Granparents both at Coffee Run and especially the Michigan Shore.  All my love and best wishes to Lauren and Jane and Dan.

I also worked with Karl at CareWorks. He was usually pretty quiet. but I will remember his sense of humor and our animated discussions about sports. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Dear Uncle Dan, Aunt Jane, and cousin Lauren and Jason too... we are all so sorry for you loss!! Colin and I are just devastated. We will love Karl forever, and cherish the time we had with him.

When we first heard he was very sick, I was certain that he would recover and that I would have a chance to talk with him again. Now that he's gone, I just can't stop thinking about it. What a sad time. I cry with you and love you all so much. It seems a short life, but a great life. He will be terribly missed by us.

Although we weren't super close, you have all been so important to me in my life, and in my heart. We have a small family and I love knowing you and have pride in my family's Ohio connections. Visiting Ohio was always momentous, especially the last time in 2016 for Lauren's beautiful wedding. I am grateful for each and every memory I have with the Ohio Fittings. I have great memories of the time you visited us in California in ~2011. I have great pictures of both our exciting cruise on Drew's yacht on the SF bay, and also us driving into Santa Cruz and riding on the roller coasters at the boardwalk. Tim and Alex were there too! Awesome memories. Karl's smile was always so handsome!! But by far my memories of Karl here in our home and joining us for our wedding week on Maui in 2017 are the freshest. I started watching the wedding and sunset cruise video again. He was so thoughtful and amazing for doing that for us!! I really appreciated his efforts. It makes me so happy thinking about him being here with us. It meant so much to ALL of us that you came here! Thank you, thank you, thank you, for always loving me!

Judy and I were surprised when Dan called to tell us about Karl's passing. We knew he was sick still it was too soon. our condolences. 

I have three memories of Karl that I would like to share. One is when you brought Karl and one of his buddies down to the cabin in West Virginia. I think they were about 5. Karl knew his friends' first, middle and last name. They had a great time playing in the woods. Any time he wanted his buddies attention he would call out in a very loud voice his friend's first, middle and last name. The second memory I have is a day Dan and Karl came over to our house for lunch before an OSU football game. There was an election coming up and Karl had spent a lot of time researching the candidates and issues. During the lunch Karl tried his best to get his father's approval on his findings and choices. The last and warmest memory I have is right after Karl graduated from OSU and was trying to get a job. He came over and I gave him several people and places to contact. One of the places had him in for an interview and offered him a job. To his credit and good manners Karl called me back to thank me. Karl was so excited I thought he was going to crawl right through phone line and hug me. To hear his excitement at his success was and still is my warmest memory.

Karl was our dearly loved nephew - one of the last times we saw him was the happy occasion of our daughter’s Maui wedding, Sept 16, 2017, where he made a professional quality video of the festivities, as THE perfect, treasured, gift for the bride & groom. How I wish we had been able to spend more time with Karl; living in California made our occasional visits super special. I’m devastated thinking of his short life - by any normal rational, it should have been me, in my eighties! We do grieve for him. Carol & David Fitting

I worked with Karl at CareWorks. A memory that stands out for me is when a group of us dressed up for a Halloween party at work. We dressed as the Wizard of Oz & he played the tin man. We all had a lot of fun that day!
My condolences for your family's loss.

I was one of Karl’s supervisors. Karl was a nice person and worked hard. You could tell he took pride in his work. 
When I moved into another position, as I would pass Karl in the hallway, I always made sure to say HI! He was usually wearing his headphones but would say HI back with a smile. Very sorry for your loss.

Dan and Jane, we do not have one favorite memory to share but many of our kids growing up together and our years at Anthem. Karl was taken to soon and will be missed by so many.There are no words to express what Jim and I feel at this time but know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Karl always had a good sense of humor and was a great coworker. He is going to be missed by everyone.
