Karee fought an incredible, nearly 17-year battle with breast cancer that devastated her body but to the very end could not dim her indomitable spirit. She exemplified God's love on this Earth and now lives in His arms forever. We miss her terribly, but find joy that she no longer experiences the pain and disability she faced so bravely. Karee's spirit touched and inspired all who knew her. Karee loved God deeply, and also loved her family, smiling and interacting with other people, nature and the outdoors, pets, and Lake Erie.
She is survived by her husband, Pete, sons Drew, Alan, and Brian, daughter-in-law Sarah, and sister and brother-in-law Kim and David Hiser and their daughter, Katie. Karee's parents, Bob and Dorothy Essman, predeceased her.
We will celebrate Karee's life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Quest Community Church, 4877 Central College Road, Westerville. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, www.komencolumbus.org .
