Katherine Ann Dunn

Katherine "Kate" Smith Dunn, age 84 from Dublin, Ohio passed away with family at her side on Saturday December 19th at Riverside hospital after battling congestive heart failure. She was born July 17, 1931 in Columbus, Ohio to Jane Malone Smith and Fred Owen Smith. Kate was charismatic, pleasant, engaging and always had a smile. She was a confidant, a cheerleader, a best friend and a beauty queen. Kate graduated from North high school and married her high school sweetheart, Edward John Dunn. She then attended The Ohio State University and joined the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Later she attended the Theta Grand Convention, received Theta of the year and regularly attended the Upper Arlington Theta group. Later in her life, Kate sold real estate for King Thompson Holzer Wollam. Prior to this, she created sandcastings and sold them at craft shows. Survived by her husband, Edward John Dunn, daughter, Ann Jennifer Dunn (Richard) Miller and son, Eric Kammer (Kathleen) Dunn. Grandchildren; Katherine Miller, Jon Miller, Anne Miller, Ethan Dunn, Eileen Dunn and Patrick Dunn. She was a role model to her younger siblings: Shirley Wagner and Patricia (Thomas) Jordan. Preceded in death by parents, and brother, Michael Smith and daughter, Sarah Jane Dunn. Funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, December 27th at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. in Upper Arlington where calling hours will be held from 1:00-3:00 pm. Sunday. A private graveside service will be held Monday at Union Cemetery.
