Kathryn E. Petty

Kathryn E. Petty, 85, of Columbus, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 1, 2010. She was born April 27, 1925 in Columbus, Ohio to the late William and Emma (Roth) Yank. Katy is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, “Big John” Petty; 2 brothers, Robert and twin brother Kenneth Yank. Katy is survived by her children, Merry (Ed) Condon, Charles (Chris) Petty, Deborah (Tom) Armstrong, David (Lee Ann) Petty; grandchildren, Robert, Merry, Claire, Katie, Connor, Austin, Abigail; great-grandchildren, Sarah and Kaelyn. Katy was a member of East Columbus Christian Church where she worked as the church secretary for many years. Katy was a member of the Elks and Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid bowler. Katy loved working on arts and crafts and making homemade Christmas ornaments with her husband. Above all, Katy loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00PM Monday, May 3, 2010, 2:00-4:00PM and 6:00-8:00PM Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL 6699 N. High St. (1/2 mile south of I-270)
