

Kathy Tschofen, age 66, passed away suddenly Tuesday, June 27, 2017, while on a day trip to Lake Erie. She is preceded in death by her father; Harry Hagan. Kathy is survived by her mother; Marilyn Hagan, her loving husband of 42 years; Pete Tschofen, her loving and beautiful daughter; Debbie (Bryan) Rood, sister; Janet (John) Guldig, niece; Leigh Guldig, her cherished cat: Izzie and many caring extended family members and close friends. As a young woman Kathy achieved both bachelors and masters degrees in education from The Ohio State University. She taught in the Westerville City School District for 30 years in the areas of history and government. Kathy met Pete, the love of her life, on a Greyhound bus while chaperoning a group of high school seniors traveling to Washington, D.C. for the 1973 Presidential Inauguration. She was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church for 30 years. Kathy enjoyed a camaraderie with friends while regularly exercising at the Worthington Recreation Center. Feeding and watching birds in her yard, as well as the passing wildlife, brought her great joy. Lunch with her teacher friends was a highlight each month for Kathy. She always enjoyed the opportunity to go to lunch and shop with her dear friends. Kathy always looked forward to spending time on the Lake Erie Islands, including Pelee Island in Canada. Kathy's favorite vacation destinations included Marco Island, Europe, and Hawaii. A gathering of friends and loved ones will be held at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High Street, Worthington, OH 43085, Thursday, July 6, 2017, from 4pm-8pm. A funeral service will take place at All Saints Lutheran Church, 6770 North High Street, Worthington, OH 43085 with Pastor Bonnie Gerber officiating Friday, July 7, 2017, at 10am. Graveside services to directly follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Lewis Center, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathy's memory may be made to All Saints Lutheran Church, MedVet Worthington or the American Heart Association.
