

He was born in Southfield, Michigan on December 27th, 1967, attended Bedford Schools in Temperance, Michigan and graduated from Toledo St. Francis DeSales High School in 1986. Ken and Amy began their life together in 1987, spent time living in London, England, attended and graduated from University of Toledo with Bachelors in Business Administration, and married in 1993 in Toledo, Ohio. Ken moved with his family to Columbus, Ohio in 2000 to continue his work for State Auto Insurance. He joined Grange Insurance Co. in 2002, became Assistant Vice President of Regional Claims in 2008, and is remembered for his dedication and commitment to the success and development of the people with whom he worked, even through his diagnosis of colon cancer in January 2009 and continuing through his 4+ years of treatment.
Ken served St. Agatha Church and School as a past school board president and current church parish council member. After Ken’s cancer diagnosis, surgeries and throughout continuous chemotherapy and radiation treatments, Ken and his wife climbed two 14,000 ft mountains in Colorado and tackled a third Colorado 14’er with their children in June 2011. Ken was also an avid dirt biking enthusiast and loved to take his motorcycle to Wayne National Forest, “catching air” on his own, or teaching and riding with his wife and children..
Ken was often referred to as motivated, determined and persistent in his work, but also well known as a dedicated father and husband who loved vacationing in Colorado and Ponce Inlet, Florida where many favorite moments were spent with his wife and children playing on the beach.
Ken is also survived by his parents, Ken and Kathy Tomaszewski; siblings, Kara Deputy (Kent Laity), Kristyn (Roland) Gray, and Kraig Tomaszewski; Godfather James Tomaszewski; Mother and Father-in-law Gary and Donna Wymer; Grandmother-in-law Esther “Granny” Borders; sisters-in-law Andrea Wymer (Ron Jurgenson) and Beth Wymer, and brother-in-law Kent (Katie) Wymer. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Zachary (Krystle) Tomaszewski; Jordan and Mackenzie Deputy; Porter Tomaszewski; Audrey, Abbey and Ayden Gray; Megan and Ryan Yockey; Lindsay and Madison Humbles and Colette Cousino; Willow, Odin and Aero Wymer; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends are also welcome on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 5:30pm - 6:30pm at St. Agatha Catholic Church, 1860 Northam Road, Upper Arlington, OH 43221. Funeral Mass to begin at 6:30 pm.
