

Kenneth Wayne Washington, 83, while surrounded by his loving family, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2022. He was born on July 14, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from St. Patrick High School in 1956.
He met and married the love of his life, who would become his wife of 59 years, Mary Patricia Mann. The two of them married on September 8, 1962.
Ken is a proud Air Force Veteran and a member of American Legion Gahanna Post #797.
Ken is a past president of the Central Ohio Gasoline Dealers' Association and the Ohio Valley Automotive Parts Association. He was a Sohio gas station dealer in Bexley and a partner in the Clintonville Service Center. In 1978 Ken founded Ken Washington Auto Parts in Johnstown, Ohio. Ken was able to work with his sons to grow the business to serve the greater Columbus area and to proudly watch the business become third generation with the addition of his grandsons.
He and Pat are founding members of the Church of the Resurrection in New Albany where he was a long-time parishioner.
He is survived by his wife and four sons; Mike (Joyce), Bob (Jackie), Jim, and Steve along with nine grandchildren; Corey, Matt, Tyler, Katie, Allie, Joey, Regan, Ryan, and Daniel.
Ken is also survived by his four sisters; Marilyn Nachman, Darlene (Bob) Goelkel, Arlene Vrabel, and Georgia Landt.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 15, from 4-7pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 11:00 am at Church of the Resurrection, 6300 E. Dublin Granville Rd., New Albany. Military Honors will be conducted at the completion of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Ken's name be made to the American Cancer Society at https://cancer.org/donate3. A luncheon will be held after the mass at the ministry center.
