

Krystie Ann Russell, age 48, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2009. She will be forever remembered for her smiling face and the way she lit up a room, just by being in it. She was a 1979 graduate of Gahanna Lincoln High School where she was a member of the band, a cheerleader, track statistician and track queen, and participated in Buckeye Girls State. Krystie also graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics, majoring in nutrition, and later earned her certification as a registered dietitian. She worked for Nationwide Ins., OSU Hospital (Dodd Hall), Naples Community Hospital and Franklin Woods Health Care Center (Kindred Health Care). Her memberships include the OSU Alumni Assn., the American Dietetic Assn., Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority and Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church. Krystie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dr. William and Ima Russell and Robert and Celia Lackey as well as her Aunt Nancy Gruber. Survived by parents, Tom and Carrie Russell; brother David (Martha) Russell and their children, Brianna and Elie Russell; brother Brad (Nancy) Russell and their children, Julia and Scott Russell; Uncles and Aunts include Don and Ann Lackey (children, Bob, Dan, Gary Lackey and Laurie Fix), Bob and Joyce LaPlant (children Don, Tom and Suzette LaPlant), Fred Gruber (children, Matt and Mark Gruber and Amy Kieffer); many friends. Family will receive friends 5-8pm Friday, October 30, 2009 at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna (please use Beecher Rd. entrance) and 12-1 Saturday, where services will begin at 1pm; Pastor Maxine Smith-Pierce and Pastor John Bock, officiating.
