

Lance James Porter, 55, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully January 17, 2017. He was born January 11, 1962 in Columbus, Ohio, the 2nd of 5 children born to Lance J. and Aileen L. (Smith) Porter. Lance graduated from Eastmoor High School, class of '80, where he was a stand-out athlete, and then from Franklin University, with a bachelor's degree in communication. He was currently serving as Assistant Director of the Franklin County Department of Job and Family Services, where he was a dedicated employee for 25 years. He loved golfing with his family, watching the Dallas Cowboys and listening to music. In addition to his beloved son, Lance A. Porter, he is survived by his father, Lance Porter; siblings, Candy Bennett, Matthew Porter, Adam (Brenda) Porter and Nancy Porter; nieces and nephews: Brea Porter, Adam Porter, Chant? Reeves, Michelle, Michael, Jonathon, Pearl, Isabelle, Jeremiah, Sarah, Nehemiah, Persia, Daniel and Ezekiel Robinson. Lance was preceded in death by his beloved mother Aileen and his niece, Annie Robinson; extended family and friends. Family will welcome friends from 11am - 1pm Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230 where a memorial service will begin at 1pm.
